House of Leaves appreciation post
if you havent already, one of my highest recommendations in horror writing is House of Leaves, the epistolary nightmare created by Mark Z. Danielewski in 2000. The novel is, to put it simply, a third parties annotations of an essay about a film, the film being about a house thats a quarter inch bigger inside than it is on the outside.
this novel had me gripped to it for days. it kept me up at night and made me cry on occasion, and truly moved me and horrified me. from the woes of Zampano, the unraveling of Johnny, Navidson and his house, and Pelafina, i have never read something better in the horror world. Its a tough read, the book will frustrate and weird you out, and that is the point.
picture that, in your dreams
if you have any interpretations on it, please tell them, i love this book and i love talking about it
