What even is the appeal behind matcha?

Back to Food & Drink

In my humble opinion, after giving it 3 separate chances, it just tastes kind of nasty. It's alright-ish with regular milk, but you can still taste the green dust at the top sometimes and it just... I don't like it. Especially not with coconut milk, then the whole thing tastes of the green dust. I wondered if boba might help save it, but I've also discovered I dislike boba, so that failed. All-round, I do not like it - and it's not in a way where I can easily see why some people might like it, I genuinely do not see how it's this much of a staple drink in today's society. I thought the best people to ask would be female university students, and I did ask them, but alas all of the ones I met seem to share my sentiments of not understanding why it's such a popular drink. Thus, here is this post.

Please explain why matcha is yummy. It is one of life's great questions... and the answer has eluded me.

And so I wake in the morning and I step outside and I
Take a deep breath and get real high and I
Scream at the top of my lungs, what's going on?

i've yet to even try it and i'm not hugely keen on green tea so

i doubt i'll care much for it

still, it seems to be a bit of a trend rn and i'm sure i'll give it a whirl eventually :3
