Emulator Shoutout!

We're clearly all nostalgic for the past here on Friend Rewind. This is a forum for shouting out your favorite emulators.

I game on Linux but I hear this one is compatible on Windows and Mac. I tried out RPCS3 today and it's flawless out of the box like no other emulator I've ever tried. I also hear that it has networking features for playing online. I haven't tried that yet but it might be fun to try sometime.

I wish I had a computer good enough to run RPCS3 cause my favorite game of all time is Little Big Planet 2 

but if were talking about emulators to shout out i am a Dolphin STANNNNN

I've been using it since like middle school (which was like 2016 for me lol) and it has never once failed me it works on even my lowest end computers i just love it downnnnnn

also the wii and gamecube are both so nostalgic for me (if you cant tell by looking at the my fav games sections on my profile lol) its just perfect i love dolphin :)

Definitely My Boy! and Visual Boy Advance. Didn't grow up in the era of the games i played as child but those two emulator gave many hours of fun when i was little, I really liked zelda and pokemon back then chdjdjdj

I am very fond of MSDOS, and Duckstation, playing Castlevania Symphony of the night, The Elder Scrolls Daggerfall, Curse of Sthrad: Ravenloft. 

All great and beautiful games.

As a person who has used emulators since the early 2010's, I can't say any of them are really bad! I love the fact that I'm able to replay all of the games from my childhood that I ruined (LOZ:WW I'm looking at you, I'm sorry I scratched 3 CDS). Being from the countryside too, I'm so thankful I'm able to play games that weren't available to me as a child. 

But I will say citra and dolphin are hands down my all time favorite 😇 

DuckStation works great for PS1 games. I've finished a few without any problems, and being able to speed it up saves a lot of time on repetitive stuff.

i like emulators. you can use this thing called retro achievements to add achievements to retro games played through an emulator

Finally Sega CG Board/Sega Model 1 Emulation is pretty solid as it's been absolutely janky for ages on MAME until this WangModel1 Emulator came out.

It's pretty solid and had been having solid improvements in quite a short amount of time.

Especially it managed to run "Dennou Senki: Net Merc" which had been absolutely unplayable on MAME yet this guy made it work on his Emulator.

There's only like about 6 Sega CG Board/Sega Model 1 Arcade Games released by SEGA (If you count "Virtua Formula" which is basically a slightly updated version of "Virtua Racing".) and this guy managed to get half o it working so far.

Might as well try the revived PlayStation Home on RPCS3 then. 

DuckStation for PS1 and PCSX2 for PS2 are my most used emulators. C64-Live launched earlier this year and that's been fantastic if you're into the Commodore 64 and want to play multiplayer. Massive thanks to C64Cade for creating it!

ZSNES is one of my favorites. It may not be the most accurate, but that interface is irreplaceable. It actually reminds me of FriendRewind in a way, since it's also customizable.

ppsspp is a great emulator, dunno where i'd be without it

I got my hands on RetroArch on my phone not too long ago, paired with mGBA and Pokemon FireRed. I'm not particularly into Pokemon, but I have been a little curious. I think I'll get my hands on Castlevania Aria of Sorrow - ever since I saw davidr64 - or simply, X - play it on his Youtube channel many many years ago, I've found it quite fun, but it has been a while since the last time.
