I’ve been a horror fan for the longest time and have started getting more into horror/ splatterpunk books, and want to know what books others like in the genre.
My favourites so far are The Hellbound Heart by Clive Barker and Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite.
I really enjoyed Monstrilo by Gerardo Sámano Córdova
It's a haunting mix between horror, love, and grief. It stuck with me for a long time after reading!

tender is the flesh is my go-to for introducing people into this genre, if you haven’t already heard all the bustle about it, it’s a dystopia where all animal meat has become deadly for human consumption, which lead to the worldwide manufacturing of human products replacing animals. it follows a man named marcos who works in a human slaughterhouse, who gets gifted a female human-thing, it’s been so long i honestly forgot what the called them, lol.
aside from that, some others i enjoyed were Dead Inside (WTF & EWW city), Transcendental Mutilation (lots of WTFs, short stories), Savaging the Dark (EWWs and WTFs), and a lot more, i’m open to sharing some others if you’re interested!!
