I have no idea why but whenever I use Opera's built in VPN, it makes this site specifically run so much slower. It only does it for this site from what I'm seeing. It's a nice throw back to the dial-up days but that's a part of those days I don't miss. Idk if this is happening with anyone else or if there even is a fix but I'll just post this to the void and see if anything can be done about it. I'd like to just leave the VPN on and forget about it but if the only fix is to just turn it off while on here I can deal with that. Probably. But if there is a fix that's even better
Ahh, the opera vpn is more of a proxy with a shared pool of IP addresses. I would recommend trying proton VPN. Still free, but should run much faster!

In my experiences with VPN everything runs slower while using it because they add extra steps, processing, and distance to your connection.
That does make sense. I guess I'm just not used to using one yet.
Can confirm that on Nord VPN the site is snappy on multiple devices.

still loads in circles around spacehey via the VPNLY firefox plugin, and I don't even need one here..lol
