anyone here using old digicams?

i have some second-hand digicams and i love taking pictures with them, the vibe is not really easy to describe but the pics come out with much more soul than if i took them using my phone. the one digicam that i use the most is nikon coolpix L25 :]

if you happen to have some pics, feel free to include them here as well! 

i got a whole bunch i aint using, and am still thinking about giving em away at some point

also a few analog cameras including a 35mm from the old soviet union :o

I got this HP digicam from 2006 and a more recent digicam. I occasionally pull it out and use it from time and time again but most times I either use my phones camera for convience and a Polaroid for physical pics

I've been using this old digicam from my neighbor's garage/house sale thingie (Like they opened up their house to sell everything in it before moving away)

It works really well! Although I need a new memory card because for some reason the one I've been using decided to stop working?? (I also need a lot more batteries as the rechargeable ones I had exploded....)

I love my digicam. Taking pics at parties has gotten me some conversation starters and friends. In my opinion the quality is much better and the photos have some soul and personality to it. Digicams also capture the beauty of nature much better than a phone camera. 

I've been using and maintaining a 1977 Kodak EK4, but I really want a good digicam as well. Like one of those small keychain ones to hang on my carabiner

My current digital camera is the 2009 model of the Fujifilm Z90. It's very good, a little bit shaky tho.

I plan to get a keitai/Japanese cell phone from the mid-late 00s and use that as a digital camera soon as well~ ^_^

that vibe and soulful feeling (which our phones cant recreate) is literally bcuz of how they used to build them before everything got so commercialized and mass produced

basicallyyyy camera sensors cant see color on their own so they put these super thick multicolored glass filters which are covered in super tiny red, green, and blue squares, over the sensor to filter the light and give u the image. back then those tiny red, green, and blue dyed squares were just coated in much thicker, richer dye formulations than the ones manufactured today.

they dont use the same dye formula today because of smartphones taking over (which needed cheap glass filters to mass produce) and people want to be able to take photos in darker light which requires thinner, less rich dye, so more light can hit the sensor. of course reducing cost was also a HUGE factor because we gotta think about the poor shareholders t(-_\\t)

plus back then it was rlly only the pros who had access to photoshop and other high end photo editing software. we just had stuff like Picnik which was pretty basic, so the old digicams internal software was tuned to spit out these high contrast, film-like JPEGs straight to ur SD card w/o needing much if any editing

nowadays phone cameras and new digital cams use super thin weak filters so u can take pics in the dark but it just leaves everything looking lifeless and way too polished. like it stripped out all the actual emotion and vibe

older digicams were just built w/ so much raw personality and is just another example of how much better things were b4 smartphones

I have a couple digicams, but for convienience and some technical issues i've been having lately i've been taking photos with my Motorola Rokr Z6, it's such a vibe and the color balance always seems weirdly on point. Like, since it's kind of a simple camera, no auto-adjustments mess with the picture.

years ago my grandma got me a nikon coolpix s7000, and it's an amazing camera!! despite its age (10+ years old). this oriole i got through a screen door, which is why it has that blurry quality to it. i think it makes him look even more vibrant and beautiful! here are a couple more images i'm fond of.

these are all unedited pictures (i don't really know How to edit photos..). i'm sure part of the allure of older cameras is the inherent distortion that comes with older, unrefined technology, but even then these are still so much nicer than phone photos because they're high quality universally accepted image files saved to an SD card, and so if i want to print them i'm not plugging my phone with so much personal info on it into a random CVS computer.

Recently picked up a Canon Powershot A510 that I adore for its pocketability. It has a couple dead pixels but that's the cost of a 20+ year old digital camera. 

got a nikkon coolpix p50. love that thing it gives every picture such a nice comfy feel, also the date on it is stuck in 2008.

I LOVE MY DIGITAL CAMERAS^o^ i have 3 that i inherited from my mother, one of them (a Canon) ive been using since november and i love the filters on it......the other two i only just recently got working (needed to order some SD cards and a charger for them...) one of them (a Nikon) is pretty nice so far, not as good as the Canon but it still has some neat features (specifically, it has this one filter that the other one doesn't, its very neat. and also the video recording is lower quality, but again it has a nice feeling to it^^) and the other one (an Optio) is older than both of them and really doesn't have that many features.....i barely had time to mess around with it before the battery died......but i really love the first two, i cherish them greatly <3 (as for photos, ive uploaded a few on my profile :D)
