whats a descriptive term for things that are culturally "manly" or "guy focused.".
like, if a group was hyper focused on movies like
pulp fiction, heat, scarface, the raid, bloodsport, kickboxer, commando, the good the bad and the ugly, fist fool of dollars, universal soldier, death wish, reservoir dogs, casino, goodfellas, the warriors, vanishing point, tony jaa and jacky chan movies, Hong kong gun fu action, speed, etc.
They all shared a culture of bodybuilding or powerlifting, listened to hard rock or thrash etc.
Enjoyed much of masculine cultural aesthetics with a conscious understanding of such, eating steaks, rec rooms that look like old pubs etc.
Talk about models and celebs through history they thought were hot etc.
pool table owning, beer signs that light up, pinups on the garage wall, etc, all this but in a self aware and least bigotted way possible,
what would that be called?
And if there isnt an endearing, aesthetically name for it, like cottagecore has,
what would it be?
And take note, im talking about all these aspects sans any connection to being derogatory directly to other groups, just the aesthetic tones and practices and comradery around it that is "guy" associated but lots of even women feel they have a strong connection too.
personally, i would think it would be dudecore possibly?
Any thoughts? on the concept as a whole too, what might you like to add?
got any pictures or personal anecdotes that really catch the vibe?.
Movies i missed that slip right in?
Versions of this culture that are different but have a similar undertone in your own country or location thats not my western context?
would love to hear it.
Also to be really into this, you dont have to be a guy, one of my best friends when i grew up as a little kid that introduced me to a lot of this was this girl Melissa.
My lil kid self thought myself all sorts of "guy" till this 14 year old girl sat me down and showed me every hong kong gun fu flick and jackie chan stunt ever, and goodfellas, (we were also really obsessed with the crow). there are some ladies out there that are dudecore to the soul.
