Scene Hair ( help me!! :c)

I tried doing scene hair again and I rlly suck at styling it!!

It might be due to how my hair has longer layers + my hair is rlly thick

Does anyone have advice???

for the most part what you're going for (or a general approximation of it) is shown below! for good scene hair (styling wise) your hair should be sectioned somewhat like this:

to prove this isnt a bullshit thing i invented for fun heres a bunch of scene kids with their hair labeled as such:

it's not perfect. but...it's sectioned into five parts.

green - the section for your bangs. these normally hang over your eye, but if they don't, they should rest atop your forehead, here ye here ye

purple - teased up part at the veeerryy back of the top of your head

blue - optional for a lot of scene kids, but if you like, the blue is cut into fringe that points in the direction of the bangs

yellow- the section underneath your bangs. should be significantly thinner than your hair at the top.

pink - the section underneath your fringe. similarly sized to the yellow. 

if someone's looking at you and you're turned to the side, the back of your head is gonna look like this:

(ignore the hair not being shaded in, i was too lazy to do bucket tool, besides, the general outline is what matters). so what does this mean? that means all of the weight of your hair should be at the BACK and the TOP of your head, right where you want your hair teased.

so at your beautiful alt hairdresser's (or in your bedroom or bathroom where you cut it yourself ;p), your main big thing is to have short layers at the back of your head.

i would argue that thick hair is better for scene hair!!! everything about it is thick...except for the bottom parts. that means pink and yellow, of course. if you don't want to, you don't need to have any haircut after you thin out pink and yellow. but most scene kids prefer to have really super duper short layers on top of old smoky (on top of your head). 

i noticed you are mainly talking about styling, but tbh the only styling you should have to do (if your haircut is correct) is straightening your bangs and teasing up the short layers at the back of your head.

generally, you can literally do ANYTHING as long as your pink and yellow are thin!

in terms of styling, the easiest thing you can do is straighten. i suggest combing first with a wide-tooth comb (not super wide, but about the size of your hand + a little wrist), then following with the straightener, to keep it just as straight as when you comb it out. you don't need to straighten your whole head of hair, though, just the bangs and the fringe if you have it!

as for teasing, take the same comb, or even a fine-tooth comb if you have one, and just comb it back and forth, without moving the comb off of your hair as you would normally. i suggest to brush it into the shape you want after teasing upwards as high as you can go. your goal is VERY fluffy styling on the top and no . fluff. on the bottom. ever.

My hair works like the top has short layers and they get longer and longer, the front goes into a fringe and hugs my face from the side, the back goes into long hair and the whole thing becomes two thin hair sections which i can use for pigtails or just put them on my shoulders. I really dont make styling professional, I always dry it first to make it straight ( dont use hairfryer thats not good for it) then i put some texturising powder on it. When you dry it try to focus on that the bottom part should be as thin and straight as possible, the top should be as puffy as it can be. If the powder doesnt help i tease it up to the sky and put on hairspray :DD
