Ngl advice is really going to vary based on what typa things you're DIYing, idk if any of this is useful but:
If you are looking for no-sew ways to customise clothes, bleach art or fabric pens can be pretty cool! Just make sure you're in a ventilated room/room with lots of windows if you're working with bleach. You can find a bunch of stencils to make some designs! Also with bleach make sure you water it down, its better the design comes out too faint and you gotta go over it than accidentally putting a hole in your shirt (speaking from experience lol)
For Jewellery/Accessories using can tabs to make chains or bracelets is relatively easy (just be careful bc they can be sharp when you cut them).
Woven bracelets can also be pretty cool to make (just look up friendship bracelet tutorials and you shouls find some resources) and all you need is either embroidery thread or yarn.
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you meant, if you had something specific in mind you wanted to make lmk and I'll see if i know anything about it:)
@MarSajr woah thats a lotty of tips i love this thank you<3
hi! i crochet a lot and that has opened up an avenue to creating clothes and accessories for SUPER cheap. and it just looks super cool and unique because it's not store bought. i also thrift a lot of the yarn so that im upcycling rather than buying more fabric to "diy". im not saying that you need to choose crochet of all things, but i highly recommend upcycling- theres TONS of tutorials and inspo on youtube and pinterest (love pinterest so bad).
pinterest can help a ton to get like ideas but painting random (or thrifted) things is a really easy way, bedazzling things, colouring, scrapbooking, and uhhh idk.

REALLY depends on what you want to DIY, latex has all of its own unique tools, chems, and techniques. Same with leather. You will have more productive answers if you have a rough idea of what you want to do first.
