ethel cain is so incredibly talented. what makes her music so enjoyable for me is that her songs are able to express many different emotions while also telling a story. for example ptolemaea ... a song (named after the ninth circle of hell) about ethel being trapped by her lover. the concept sounds insane but once you listen to the song you'll realize how well the song is able to portray that exact story. the distorted voices, the guitar, the eerie noises and obviously the lyrics.
