Where do you think is the best place to post art?

Back to Art & Photography

I currently am only active on insta but want to go into tumblr and twt (for the 600th time) I dont really know if those are the best places so if anyone has anything to suggest lmk!!

I want to be in contact with more potential moots and talk more to people and build up eachothers community + art. I am personally trying to sell mine (artist alley + comms) both locally and online !!

i post all of my art on tumblr, but twitter and bluesky are unfortunately the best way to grow an audience online as an artist. it also depends what niche you'd be interested in catering to, toyhou.se is a good place for character artists and deviantart is still thriving especially for furries! tiktok already has a shop function built in but it can be hard to actually build an audience if you dont want to burn yourself out chasing trends.

personally my art receives the most interactions on tumblr and pinterest.. i used tiktok in the past but it was just fine, nothing ever really blew up

Tumblr is really good imo, difficult to get traction for oc art at first but great for fanart and moot finding (once you have enough followers ocs can get a decent amount of attention though)

Tumblr is great! I mostly host my art on my own website, it's kind of difficult to gain traction on say, neocities but on both tumblr and your website keep putting up your artwork and supporting other artists as well :)

even though it reallyyyy sucks, twitter is one of the best places. i've been posting my art online for maybe 8 or 9 years by now and no other app compares to twitter. especially if you draw fanart. oc art isnt as popular if youre not already a popular artist, but everyone starts somewhere! you still get a decent amount of traction from it too. but it's different for everyone, this is just my personal experience.
tumblr is also good!! i havent posted on there for a while but the few fanarts i've posted have gotten a decent amount of notes.

with commissions, you're more likely to be able to sell on twt or tiktok. people are constantly looking for commissions on tiktok.

either way i wish u luck w building a fanbase and with comms!!!

I have a lot of unposted art, I mainly posted them on my spacehey or napo blogs back then, I've tried pinterest out as well but you get like 0 clout, same goes with instagram, and we don't even talk about youtube community posting.

Tiktok is slightly better when it comes to your art being picked out by the algorithm but then again I am also extremely against tiktok, so I don't use it anymore and advice you not to either.

Reddit and Tumblr is best when it comes to getting likes and recognized quickly if your art is fandom based in my experience.

I'm too scared to try twitter because of al the bigots and strange creatures that lurk there, but I feel like it's the most popular choice, unfortunately.

Shout out to my mom
