Movies with Summer Vibes?

Back to Movies & TV

Some movies just belong in certain seasons. Since there's like a month left of summer, what's everyone's top sunny day film? For me, Call Me By Your Name (2017) and The Wind Rises (2013) make me want to go to the beach and pick clovers.

tbh Midsommar but only if you dig a bit of horror

@Groovyandgreen

midsommar is absolutely creepy and magnificent <33

Purple Noon and The Talented Mr. Ripley, both are film adaptations of the same book, but they have the exact same vibe as Call Me By Your Name (except there's some murder there too).

Summer with Monika, if you are into tragic love stories.

Pierrot Le Fou if you want a slow, more artsy film that takes place by the sea.

And I also recommend Perfect Days, it is absolutely peaceful and beautiful.

Oh and also the Before Trilogy, starting with Before Sunrise (1995) which I think is the best out of the three.

@Upsilon I watched Perfect Days a few months ago. great recommendation. my only complaint is they should have used more japanese music. i'm so tired of hearing the house of the rising sun. also those toilets were way too clean lol.

Under the Open Sky is another good japanese movie with similar vibes to Perfect Days. you'll probably like it

@schism I've heard of Under the Open Sky, now I got a reason to watch it tonight. And yeah it does seem weird that there's no japanese music, but the director of the film is also german and looking at his other works he is obsessed with american rock bands, british rock bands and pop music

i really like 'because of winn-dixie' , it's been a favourite since i was a little kid :3

"society, you're a crazy breed... i hope you're not lonely, without me" - eddie vedder, 'society'

Roadside Prophets is a really sunny movie, quite literally, captures the fleeting beauty of weird wonderful road trips

Remember,

My favorites are Kings of Summer (2013), or The Way Way Back (2013). I think these movies are pretty underated.

Kikujiro's Summer. Its a very low to no stakes road movie set in the summer. Very heartwarming film and I really enjoyed it.

"Secret technique! Sprout Scattering!"

Even tho it is a sad movie, for me it's call me by your name

summer vibe, um summer vibes

people fromt the tv show bear looking through files
