hi, i identify with the term "straight-edge," because i don't do recreational drugs, drink alcohol, or smoke cigarettes.
however, i've seen some sXe people use the term because they abstain from substances AND sexual activity. this makes me wonder what other sXe people think about sex in their lifestyle. is someone still sXe if they're sexually active? it never crossed my mind before now and i'm suddenly curious.
I dont identify as that but from what I've read in the past I think the term is mostly for not using drugs and alcohol but some people also dont have casual sex but I guess its optional.. idrk tho :3
i see. i just was confused because i'd never seen people claiming sXe over sexual abstinence until, like, yesterday. makes more sense if it's about casual sex or hookups tho
Yo I’m sxe but I don’t engage in sexual stuff. While it’s common for sex to be lumped in with the lifestyle, drugs & alcohol are the basis of being straightedge (being straightedge is moreso about being substance free rather than just not doing “risky” things in general.)
I am ace outside of being straightedge, so that may contribute to my lifestyle lol
