As the title says I'm searching visual kei bands to listen to because I'm pretty new to the genre :D
I know most of the classic bands by name but honestly there are so much iconic albums and songs, I don't know where to start!
Right now I only listen to Existtrace, Danger Gang and a bit of An Cafe...
So feel free to drop your own recs. It can be an album, a song, etc... I'll gladly listen to it ^^!!
Pretty sure the only visual kei band I've listened to is Malice Mizer... 😅
Gekka no Yasoukyoku, Ma Chérie, and Au Revoir are some of my favorite songs from them. 💕
My recs are Hollow mellow, Iruma rioka (vocalist of the previous band), unlucky morpheus, sick2 and dadaroma :) maybe ill drop some more later bc i would need to serch the endless pile that are my saved artist, but hope you enjoy them! You can use a really good website called vkgy to search for more stuff

some honorable mentions include Aliproject (though as a band they align themselves with more of a gothic sound and whether they are in fact vkei is debated by some. They do identify as such, at least according to my research) with songs like yuukyou seusyunka and countless other iconic releases; Kokusyoku Sumire (filled with a dark cabaret sound and eccentric visuals); suG for something along the lines of oshare kei and lastly Fukuro.
Id say that if you want to discover more artists by your own your best bet is to start with a popular spotify playlist as a way to discern which subgenres you gravitate more to, then use vk.gy and youtube to keep exploring (spotify is not as good when it comes to including nicher or older bands, but it is a good starting point)
Big fan of the Oshare subgenre.

My personal favourite is Plastic Tree, but I highly recommend Madmans Esprit, Gulu Gulu/Memento Mori/Musyozoku (same vocalist), Moi Dix Mois, Lyrica, Mejibray, the GazettE, Buck-Tick, LUNASEA, Deadman, Mamireta, Lareine, Glamscure, DazzlingBAD, Kuroyume, Lynch and Laputa.
