Every reason why physical media was great for gaming.

1. On ps2 and GameCube era when a game was released that was it. No dlc no patches, no micro transactions. But discs were fragile which is why many turned to emulators. To preserve their games.

2. What if I told u the ds andda lite and N64 had the best physical media format for longevity. The cartridges. The ds lite especially.

3. Carriages didn't have scratching issues, like broken record but would have inferior storage to discs. 

4. What made the ds so cool is it's offline, it's physical media on a touch screen enabled device. Something offline and physical media made for a portable device is rare these days. And original ds games were as is when printed on cartridge.

5. What about the switch 1? Thats when Nintendo handhelds started going down hill for physical media. 

6. Tbh just get a 3ds for you physical media In modern life. It'l last longer then disc and you seem younger and relatable to the future generations. With that touchscreen and buttons. You stay looking somewhat relatedable to them and not a total laughing stock playing old blurry N64 games.

7. The main exceptions tho is if ur playing n64/ps1 games on a crt. Now thIs is still cool. For N artistic point for any generation..

I get you don't want to let it go I get that it's definitely better I can definitely vouch for that. But the reality is they can't make the physical media as good as it used to be and have it'd be price the same as the digital you know? I mean shoot look at Nintendo they sell their games at like $60 $70 whether you buy a digital or physical which you still need the Internet to play it regardless of which title. The industry has been enshitified

Also making games and consoles that are built to last are not a good business model unfortunately so they have to make things enshitified just to make more money and keep their profits High which is not fair but it's true

On your point on #1, Actually that goes as far as the Fifth Generation Of Home Video Game Consoles like Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation. (I'm talking about Disc Based Home Video Game Consoles.)

On your point on #2, The Storage Format of Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are not Cartridges.... These are Game Cards that's basically Flash Storage like SD Cards. But I get your point there.... (Gonna be talking about actual Cartridges specifically for Nintendo 64.) But there are Pros and Cons.

Pros, these are quite durable and since the Game Data would've been loaded from the Cartridge all the way to the Console once plugged in, instantly there are no Loading Times.

Cons, these are quite expensive to produce compared to Game Discs and has very limited Storage Capacity compared to Compact Discs at the time during the Fifth Generation Of Home Video Game Consoles are one of the Major reasons why Nintendo with the Nintendo 64 were simply behind Sony with the Sony PlayStation.

And even on their Home Country in Japan they deliberately flopped in the Third Place where Sega Saturn simply enjoyed a simple success.

That's because many developers jumped ship to Sony PlayStation because of how less expensive it was to produce games for and how much Storage Capacity Compact Discs had compared to Cartridges.

On your point in #3, Yeah, you're right, but Game Discs were fine as long as you properly take care of these.

That's more on the owner on how the owner takes care of the Game Discs.

On your point #4, Yeah.... I agree with you on that though I had quite preference on Sony PlayStation Portable for a lot of reasons like Hardware Power and It's Physical Format and how much nicer the games were there and how it's much more than a Video Game Console like you can do other stuff on it like Browse the internet and play music and watch videos, there's quite a good amount of stuff you can do on it.

But I do have some really good appreciation on Nintendo DS and it's also pretty great on it's own way and also had a nicer library of games.

Both are great I'd say.

On your point #5, Exactly.... Many Game Cards barely had the game on it and have you to download the whole game, and Physical Copies only having the Game Key on it. LOL XD

On your point #6, Hm.... Okay but I don't think many craps on Nintendo 64 and many had huge appreciation on Retro Video Game Consoles nowadays and Modern Gaming Console Industry is quite getting a lot of bitterness from the Gamers.

So yeah, I don't see any problems on people playing Nintendo 64.

On your point #7, I do agree the best way to play Retro Video Game Consoles is on a CRT Television Unit.

I own a n64 and a 3ds... I want a crt TV so bad.... Probably gonna get one soon, I want to collect vhs as well so getting one would be really nice. I love both these consoles so much and Nintendo seems to care more about money than quality. If they cared about quality then complaints about controllers and whatnot would not exist. Idrc about what people think about me playing n64 games lol, legend of zelda ocarina of time was ahead of its time and is the reason I got my n64!! Emulators were not enough for me, forever thank my uncle for giving me his copy of the game!
