my pcs in its older years but its still decent but ive noticed alot of ram gets used often but ill have nothing open and ive debloated which helps but barely, im also not a fan of windows spyware and the fact they shove ai down your throat. im considering switching to archcraft. i dont really play many games with anticheats. mainly just geometry dash adofai and minecraft and 2k27 when that comes out

if you're willing to learn and compromise a little bit of compatibility for improved performance then i'd say definitely try it out! if you end up liking it then great, if not then just switch back :)

@psyc★ im also concerned that something might go wromg durimg the switch snd brick my pc.. idk if that can happen but id prefer to know before i do a big change like this
@wNicoXz luckily that's pretty unlikely these days. as long as you back up all your files before you install then there's no real risk of anything bad happening. linux can't brick your pc, it's very hard to do something like that nowadays on accident. just look up some videos on youtube and educate yourself and you'll be good. :)

yup!!!! its a bit hard to get used to at first but its worth it
yeah linux is really usable nowadays, most windows programs works like a charm. yay
just be careful with ur distro of choice cuz there are some that aren't beginner friendly(but you can use the harder ones fine if u don't care about learning a lot of new stuff)

Only if you know what you are doing. Linux is much simpler then it was but can still be complicated. If you were to switch to linux im sure you are aware that games with anticheats wont work. If you do i would recommend linux mint cinnamon. It has plenty of features, it is simple for newer linux users and it is light on ram. It also has flatpak which i fucking love. Let me know if you do and i can give you some tips if you need them.
I think so, just watch some Tutorials on YouTube to familiarize yourself with the process and maybe consider setting up a dual-boot option if you want to play games that require Windows.

I have fedora on my laptop and would totally use it on my pc, if DAWs (digital audio workspace) were supported too, (i even have an old imac for garageband LOL), since you dont play games which require kernel level anticheat, which most competitive games do nowadays, which is a problem, then id say you should totally switch. I use a dual boot system (grub) whenever i want to use windows or ubuntu, so if you still need windows for some things, definitely keep that in mind
Personally, i remember playing counterstrike on linux for the first time and was blown away at how smooth the game was, not every game will run faster though, because counterstrike2 (made on source 2) was optimized to run well on linux, W valve
