(I did post this topic on Spacehey, but I got no answer. Therefore, I hope at least someone here does.)
Heads-up: It was, at first, a simple question, then it turned philosophical.
Like any of us, everyone is going to need to slow down their pace and go to a place where they can just relax and let whatever they're admiring do the speaking for them. The rest is for them to interpret that scene and ask themselves a question.
"I wonder what this person's life is like? What about this driver? He seemed hasty. Is he going to work? Is he going to visit a friend?"
Or, in the absence of people, it will just be you and the environment, but the methodology stays the same. It's just nature and whatever has been built by mankind. Some just contemplate their close surroundings, while others may look beyond that, eyeing distant places and imagining what the view is like from there. You know what's even more thoughtful? It's the fact that some others will look even further beyond, they'll look straight up at the sky, and that's already more than enough for them. They'll stare at the clouds, trying to make out what they're like, and maybe befriend some stars and give them names, or maybe they represent a meaning for them.
Enough of that, I'll give you an example. For me, my favorite spot is a big lake I visit on the outskirts of my town. It's usually a big, open, empty area there, and I like it. It enhances the experience. Infrequently, I spot some fishers here and there. Plus, from the far sides, I can see other towns. At night, the scene becomes even more magnificent. The middle of the lake is total darkness, but the edges are illuminated by the lights of the other towns. It's really soft and comforting to the eyes. It makes me want to ask many questions... too many.
But unfortunately, I do occasionally have a somber expression when being there because I always get a reality check. I get reminded why I even came here in the first place: the pain, the trust issues, the betrayals, the chronic stress, and many other things. If you experience them without trying to give yourself a break, you'll certainly lose yourself. First, it will be your self-confidence, then your ambitions, and then your morals, and maybe... your principles, if things get really out of control.
But it's amazing how we humans can be so forgetful just because of our current mental state. You may forget your life's highlights, and when I say highlights, I don't mean massive achievements. I mean every single action that makes you feel proud and actually happy. Like marrying your partner? Or waving back at a stranger who greeted you first? It does not have any scale, its main purpose is to make you happy.
Also, you should remember that life can be shaped into anything depending on your actions, mentality, and dedication. Do not forget that.
Even if you weren't able to visit that sweet place to feel something positive, just at the very least, try to be patient, because patience is a virtue.
Please share your thoughts here in the comments, so everyone can learn. Don't forget your favorite spot. Have a nice day/night.
