i know theres not an app yet, and thats probably not a huge priority at the moment- but i'd really like push notifications from the website on my phone. i know theres a way to do it just through a website i think...


( also is there any more plans for any kind of monetization?? i know this stuff isn't free and i'm a bit worried where the money to host this is coming from ;'0 )

There's no official iOS FriendRewind app in the App Store, but you can download it as a PWA (Progressive Web App) and it can function as a mobile app. I get push notifications through that.

@eevarrlee uuuuh how do i do that??? i go to the downloads section and it wont let me install the pwa. all it lets me do is add a shortcut to my home screen that opens it in safari- unless that is the pwa??

  1. Open FriendRewind in Safari, not inside another app’s built-in browser.
  2. Log into FriendRewind if needed.
  3. Tap the Share button (the square with the ↑ arrow). Or 🔁
  4. Scroll down through the Share menu.
  5. Tap “Add to Home Screen.”
  • If you don’t see it, scroll all the way down and tap “Edit Actions”, then add Add to Home Screen. 
You should see FriendRewind’s name and icon. If your iPhone shows “Open as Web App,” turn that on. Tap “Add.”

@eevarrlee i feel a bit silly now :P

tried it on my ipad and it works but not on my iphone, i suppose it’s only for newer ios releases. sorry!!! 🙇‍♂️
