I've always loved Katniss, I related more to her when I was younger, but I still carry my mockingjay pin in my pocket when I have to do something that scares me. Her attitudes towards people and the world are very much how I think. She's kind of a pessimist, pretty antisocial, and more focused on practicality than emotions unless it comes to those she's very close to. I also love the political side of the book. When I was a teenager I was an activist (like, actually) and looked up to her dedication and willingness to sacrifice for the good of others. I'm still very politically involved, but college and work stopped me from being an activist anymore; I carry that time inside me though. I wish the movies showed how much of a complete wreck she was after the 2nd games, needing to be sedated repeatedly and living in the hospital. It's inspirational that even though she completely broke down and lost it over and over, she was still able to do what she needed to do to save people.
