I've been thinking about old abandoned metal forums of the early 2000's a lot lately... I thought I'd make a proper thread in the same vein as those old forums - please treat this as such.

I want this thread to be about anything black metal related you have on your mind that you'd like to share or rant about.

@GillFilmReviews21 ohhh yeah I don't know Wounded Masquerade too well but I remember my boyfriend showing me "I Ruin Everything" and that shit's pretty solid depressive.

I gotta say Tyrant's first release is stuck in my head like a tick man, this is some proper symphonic black metal. It just isn't made like this anymore. There's not a single bad track. I cannot think of a single bad thing about this (except for the blownout first seconds lol, I thought my pc was crashing at first)

I'm so upset there's no proper rereleases of this with the original artwork, but from what I've been told the original members are hard to get a hold of. I gotta bootleg it for myself until I find an original tape I guess..

ever since konflict became one of my favorite projects, ive been really getting into the black/death/war metal scene in india/sri-lanka - stuff like kapala, genocide shrines, tetragrammacide, etc. and lately this album has been stuck in my mind. gotta start collecting stuff from these guys

war metal is a very interesting genre to me because at the same time its loosely defined by vibes but also has many limiting defining charateristics, so for a band to stick out from the rest it has to really push those boundaries. and if its made by people living in shithole/wartorn countries it takes everything up a notch - case in point, damaar

@soupbeing a bit of war metal is always good for the soul

i was a late bloomer to black metal, so not super in mega deep but i love it and have for some years now. come to it via goregrind and death etc. love all the basic staples ofcourse. gorgoroth, marduk, beherit, early darkthrone, mayhem, satyricon, bathory, dissection, taake, satanic warmaster (yeah i know the reputation) carpathian forest. Xasthur. so yeah i guess like, lever 2 amateur. a brown belter lol. Do love the atmospheric shit though a lot i sleep to it often, along with dsbm etc.

I’m a bit older(mid 30s)but I remember the golden age of USBM. Seeing Nachtmystium and Havohej tour and the scene was amazing…or so I thought.

Leviathan, Xasthur, Krieg, Chaos Moon were my favorite bands at the time to name a few
