i feel like i'm very awkward and quiet in real life. i'm very used to being talked over and ignored, and i feel as if whenever i say something i end up embarrassing myself. and when i actually do try and talk to people i feel they inevitably get annoyed by me. i'm only really social to people in real life who i'm very close with.

i really like talking to people who have stuff in common with me, because for the most part, in real life i feel like i'm always surrounded by people who just have nothing in common with me and just see me as some alien because i'm weird, awkward and different. it's hard to explain.

and because i'm so awkward i feel like i'm the butt of the joke. when i was in high school, i was well known but not popular, because i was a weird kid surrounded by a bunch of snobs. i'm proud of who i am, but i can't determine if me being antisocial is holding me back or if i really am annoying sometimes.

me too, i feel like i have nothing in common with my irl friends except for a couple of shows. But even then we never really talk about them. Online people say my interests and hobbies are cool, but irl i feel alienated for trying to express myself through clothes or accessories. I also have bad social skills irl and am much better at talking online, but I'm really soft spoken and ppl assume i don't wanna be talked to bc of it, also bc i have a resting sad face :/ I'm really awkward in social settings and usually when someone does wanna be my friend, I tend to avoid them on accident because i'm afraid they'll leave me and see that i'm too different from who they want to be friends with.

@‧₊˚𖦹Maddie 𝄞₊˚⊹! i kind of learned that it's okay to be different. i took the label of being "weird" and embraced it. and i've met plenty of cool people online. i got a few irl friends too who i'd occasionally talk to about my obsessions but we'd usually bond over basic stuff instead like music. maybe i've haven't experience this myself, i really hate where i live and want to move away asap, but it's important to be yourself, and if you surround yourself with the right people, people are gonna think you're cool. regardless, i rarely talk to other people first, but i've already met cool people online, what are the odds there's cool people around me that i don't know of yet?

i don't know what i'm rambling on about, but hopefully you can take something away from all this.

@stevee yeah, idm being 'weird' either, but i'm rlly self-conscious tho, it's something I have to work on (ᵕ•_•) I hope after high school is finished I can meet more people at uni that might be like me :3

@‧₊˚𖦹Maddie 𝄞₊˚⊹! i'm trying to stop being self-conscious as well. for the most part i've stopped caring but i always have a lingering voice in the back of my head rambling on about everything wrong with me. i'm really anxious and paranoid too and i overthink things extremely often and give myself headaches.

also, just speaking from experience since i tried college a few months before i decided on the business school, it's really not different from high school. i never met anyone really in common with me there and when i felt like i did it was a brief encounter and i never saw them again... might be different for you but that's how it was for me.

@stevee same, i overthink a lot and have that voice in my head telling me off whenever i make a mistakr or feel like people r judging me
