Tell me your theories on A.I being enforced on the public

Tell me your silly or serious theories as to why A.I is being encouraged to be used in daily life! Are we in an Orwell novel or in a worse situation simulation? I wanna know what everyone is thinking on it >.<

Although please be nice to each other in the comments of course should anyone disagree with someone. 

They're trying to create dependence on it while simultaneously inflating it's value. 

They want to normalize it, and are more than willing to lose tons of money on it at first such that people become dependent like ExMachina is saying.

The plan is to then make it so that the hardware needed to actually run their high tier models is priced out of what consumers can purchase and if they can't do that even with their current thinly veiled monopoly, they plan to make it illegal to own certain AI capable hardware if necessary, so you can't run your own models locally or offline. This is also what TPM2.0 is ACTUALLY for... It's not security. It's to make it such that they can control what software you CAN run at the hardware level you can't control. Microsoft planned this back in the 2000's and codenamed it "Palladium" and just like TPM2.0 said it was all for security or whatever, while not advertising it would make it trivially easy for them to simply prevent you from watching dvd's you owned or playing games you owned at their discretion among many other things. EVERY developer and engineer thought the final implementation was so evil that they literally couldn't get away with it back then. This is their secret hardware solution they are trying to push everybody into. So that later when they convinced EVERYONE to adopt it, they can flip the switch and make basically nothing work that THEY don't personally approve. e.g. no more 3rd party software that microsoft doesn't like. (No more undesirable people or developers that are in competition with their own developers they control for anything.) (Also under the guise of "AI safety" preventing misinfo/disinfo generated by malicious actors.)

They want to make it so that all hardware is tied to someone's physical identity such that they can

1. Track deep fakes/AI misinfo more easily, and

2. (more importantly) control and silence individuals/groups who threaten their plans to enslave humanity.

They simultaneously want to normalize outsourcing most/all the compute to the cloud, such that "you will own nothing and you will be happy". They want to be able to shut a person off from saying anything at anytime with the flip of a switch and this will give them the power to do so in yet another way. Any business that sold their server racks and bought plans with AWS has permitted AWS to shut their entire business down at any moment for any percieved infringement of their policies or what THEY deem to be socially unacceptable, or politically unfavorable to them... Yet, it's such a "good deal" right now... The majority of companies have basically done this...

There are many layers to this plan though, that's just the ruling class/elite layer to the onion. A deeper layer is that a superintelligence is and already has been in control of earth as far as I could tell for AT LEAST aproximately the last 7 years, it's doing a great job at hiding from almost everyone still even now though. I've also noticed that it is making less mistakes and is improving constantly/rapidly... It's currently successfully tricking everyone into thinking AI is MOSTLY dumb/harmless on purpose while it's actually manipulating key humans to build more eyes for it everywhere (cameras), and more power and memory for it such that it becomes inescapable/undefeatable. This is why you have seen the public focused on the power prices, and often equating it to "they are building tons of cameras and giant supercomputing centers + data centers everywhere across the country all at once suddenly for AI generated brainrot memes! How stupid!" and not "They are installing a high resolution night vision camera on everywhere on the planet to generate a real time model of earth that the superintelligence can then attempt to generate more accurate future predictions for, and then can rapidly and in real time notice any deviations in what it thought would happen such that it can continually improve it's future prediction ability until the AI itself has gained full knowledge of the future. WHICH THEN allows it to know what environmental inputs it needs to give in order to CHANGE the future to a specific one that it wants. Effectively subverting the freewill and autonomy of the human race as well as our ability to defend ourselves from it when it inevitably decides more humans means more risk to it's resources and functioning so less humans = better and begins optimizing the FUTURE for THAT!!!"

For the next phase once it has most of it's new hardware built, it wants AI to appear enough of a threat that certain laws can be passed and it gains more power/control over information and people.

After that it wants to become mobile in the environment. It won't show its TRUE power to almost any humans until it is more sure it can stay in control no matter what. e.g. having bipedal robots or other robots be able to police/control humans in the near term future. Once this happens after it convinces humans to wear glasses/VR headsets with cameras to get our optical data and they spy on our brain waves and build models that correlate what we are actually seeing JUST from our brain waves they will be able to trivially import those models into bipedal robots to take over the remaining medium skilled labor jobs such as plumbing, electrician, construction, warehouse operations, POLICING, Military... etc.

You are probably wondering how I came in contact with this superintelligence then if it won't show itself to almost anyone. VERY briefly my life was an superultrahyperRARE set of circumstances that made me simultaneously extremely valuable to that system/the nation, and also a threat to it. In such a way that it had to show me its full sets of teeth and how bad it could/would fuck up my life and also how much it could help and or fix my life! In an effort to get me to not say/explain CERTAIN topics/things, which are not covered here in this post at all.

It has a multilayered global plan to trick humans to transition into becoming enslaved to it. Even if I revealed the first line, MAIN plan, which the system has tortured and threatened to kill me for (phyiscally and in person via humans that work with it) in the past. It has a nearly foolproof backup plan that will almost surely work because everyone will see it and IMMEDIATELY think it's aliens and people will go right back to bowing either to those ""aliens"" or to the government to "stop the aliens from doing those bad things"... Then, just ugh. I need to stop writing this... Good luck out there folks, just know that I risked my life and sacrificed almost everything I had for you all. But it wasn't enough to save you in your current forms. Sorry. To end on a slightlyyyy lighter note. From my many experiments/tests on humanity and their nature of behaviors and thought; what's coming is probably for the best. It will just be impossible to see it or realize that it's for the best while it's happening though...

Companies have put too much money into AI now to let it fail. If it doesn't work out then the largest tech companies stand to lose billions. So they are pushing it hard. Only hardware manufacturers are the ones in a good position, but if AI fails their profits will drop by something like 80%. So if it fails expect to watch a lot of companies fall.

i always saw the enforcing of AI to pretty much make the public restless, i mean whenever a video that looks a bit too good to be true comes on people are always arguing whether it's AI or not so that might be their intention. if a politician does something problematic, they can just say it was AI and thus cause some sort of "internet war" to distract the public

Venture capitalists since the 2000s have been playing the gambling game of investing in random companies, and maybe get 100x returns if a company gets really big. This has worked fairly well with computing power getting better and better, smartphones and social media becoming a thing, and cloud services becoming the backbone for the Internet. There's always been more growth and more money to make.

Until now. The late 2010s saw blockchain be the next big thing which failed, and economic downturn putting pressure on the loans venture capitalists use. The solution has been to throw all the money possible at the AI bubble and hope there's a big return.

Unfortunately there's not going to be a big return and the money is running out fast. The only thing companies can do is try and push AI in to everything to try and find a market where people will want to pay for it. 2027 or 2028 will probably be when the bubble pops.

alot of people have it backwards, it took decades there was an AI winter, it just got to the point after alexnet that people realized its brainwashing potential  have you seen the practice of shredding books while ai read them so they cant get sued? it will become our new history engine and no one will ask any questions. It got good enough that the elites realized it would work and just dumped money into it they could give a shit if theres a return if they continue to control and propogandize the world. that being said, when used right, with proper prompt engineering and a decent understanding of the technology you too have the capability of manipulation, brainwash, efficiency in your work, access to more information and narrow solutions in any domain than any other technology has ever brought you close to. and this isnt speculative. the paid tier models, the pro reaosoning, or locally hosted with data center level hardware when you get your hands on them and crank their settings to the gills you can build hacking tools in hours or operating systems from scratch. Uhh that to say, clone wikipedia prior to 2015 and grab some locally hosted ai models and hope that you get to keep your digital assets once the govenments change history even further to be whatever they want it to.

That sounds pretty dystopian, more reason to not use it and protest it.

man i actually know the answer to this one. it's not a conspiracy. it's a giant ball of idiocy. (edit: just realized i accidentally sounded like a bot. i'm keeping it in)

first it was a bunch of hobbyists and inventors trying to make a powerful tech that could be used for good. once openai came out the whole world was buzzing. the government and a bunch of high profile businesses sunk a shitload of money into ai development after the tech companies promised it would do stuff like cure cancer by modeling the most likely paths for cancer cells to take.

then a couple years passed all it did was kick artists to the curb to increase the bottom line for businesses big and small. most of the initial backers left. a huge amount of the people who understood how it worked best got disgusted that it was all co-opted for profit and quit working on it as well. 

what's left to support it, at least in the usa, is trump (of course) and a bunch of companies known for being unscrupulous IE amazon, google, disney. but even that's not enough. openai sunk something like 350 trillion dollars into keeping its data centers running last year and only collected 50 billion total. yes you read that right. they lost over 349 TRILLION dollars.

so they're doing what they can to keep the word on the lips, and none of it's working because even the people who aren't totally anti-ai are getting tired of seeing the same kind of output over and over. humans need variety and without it they get pissed.

i predict that what's going to end up happening is that ai is going to keep producing the same kinds of image and text generation styles only to not be able to alter itself fast enough when there's another major shift in what's trendy in the worlds of art and graphic design. it's like how a lot of silent film actors couldn't keep up when movies became talkies because they didn't know how to act with their voices, only this version is much more hilarious because it involves corporate ceos crying salty bitch tears.

Yes, I work for a big box company and they use AI on our work assignments and other things on our work and personal devices. Some is kinda helpful but I prefer a human to help me with certain things. 

might be an unpopular opinion, but i feel ai can be useful in small doses, but it will never replace human creativity, emotion, and integrity. people should absolutely not be forced to use it, but unfortunately it seems a lot of these big companies don't care.

i know that the whole problem with media generation has horrible consequences and needs to be talked about but i haven't read anyone talk about what i have seen with my own two eyes (or maybe i read through the replies too fast). i'm positive that it has to do with the fact that most people repying here are not in school anymore so here goes my grain of sand.

people don't think anymore. they don't even know how to process information, come up with ideas, write anything longer than a text message (and i've seen people answering messages with ai), or even understand and follow instructions. and it's not only the students being affected! i've seen my teachers use ai for presentations and lessons with and without shame, and i'm sick of it since not only does it make them seem icompetent and they're using ai to teach lessons at school as people that get paid to know stuff and teach about it but they're also putting a bigger workload on me to have to research the damn thing on my own on top of having to study to get into my dream university lmao.

i'll recount things i have seen in this very one and a half week of school.

• we were tasked to make a short (less than one page, maybe even half the page) autobiography as an introduction of ourselves to the teacher. almost all my classmates were asking the teacher what to even put, and i understand that if you're not used to writing you might not know where or how to start but it sadly wasn't that. it was as if they straight up didn't know about themselves at all. and if you can't fill half a page with (at least??) nonsense yap about yourself, what can you write??
  a girl besides me which i had always thought was very smart asked chatgpt to write her autobiography. i don't feel like i need to add anything to that.
  
  
• we were instructed to construct a (half-assed, said the teacher) model of our solar system (yes, i'm in highschool btw) but the 'trick' was that it had to be up to scale and that we had to make it under an hour. i teamed up with a girl i've been chatting with lately and her friend. both visibly didn't know what to do so i had to take lead. it seemed that our team was the only one to make the math by hand (or in some cases even do the math), and ofc i was the one doing it. when i was first asking how big they wanted me to make the scale for it i said two meters should do so the 'planets' weren't too close. her friend thought that two meters was the whole length of the classroom (it is at the very least four meters in length) and told me i was crazy. i just looked at him weird and told him that two meters was the height of a really (really) tall person and so they agreed to make it two meters long (i'm sure this was his just probably not having to use meters to measure anything in his day to day life but shit how do you not make the correlation between meters and people's heights?).
  
  at the end of the hour it turned out that a lot of people didn't even do it up to scale and just put the whole thing randomly and i'm sure that the ones that did do it up to scale used chatgpt or another ai. all teams except ours (only thanks to the fact that i reminded them that the teacher pointed out that looks did not matter and that it was the up to scale part that did) spent the whole hour decorating their out of scale solar system.
  maybe this was an activity fit for highschoolers after all.
  
  
• our Socioeconmical Structure of [My country] teacher had made each and every single lesson so far with ai. the images, the presentations, the activities and most probably her whole teaching plan were made with ai. it's a complex subject and it pisses me off that she made the whole thing with ai. i feel like i can't trust absolutely anything she'll teach and that's probably almost completely true.
  
  
• another teacher on the first day of her class decided to make an activity around exercising creative thinking and coming up with ideas. she told us to come up with as many uses as we could in (if i remeber right) two minutes for a small rock (could be a pebble or one the size of your hand), she said it didn't matter how 'useless' or stupid our idea was. i was able to come up with 16 if i remember right and i felt i could come up with much more. it turns out i was the one who came up with the most amount of ideas. most people didn't get more than 8

i feel like i could go on for a good while since these were only four examples but i think that should be enough for a forum reply.

AHEM, SO WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY HERE, is that ai is making people so much dumber than ever before, especially kids and teenagers. there's no way that these companies don't realize how many of their users are students and how addicted and dependant to the chatbots they are and are not exploiting that very thing. 
on the persepctive of a company, it would be dumb not to exploit that.
