Because nothing lasts forever, and perhaps love is about that sometimes.
Well either a relationship will end or if it doesn't you have to let them go when they pass away. Unless you pass away first. Either way you have to let them go.
Idk if it means anything, but here is what I can spit.
You cannot claim to love something, without being free of YOUR desire/greed to have a claim to that feeling. It is like separating a piece of yourself willingly, and seen as the ultimate testament of the very concept to love something or someone in the truest sense.
This is a complex feeling, often spoken in too few of words to ever capture what it means to any given person that has to face that ache. There are many ways to express love, letting go...is the only one that is absolving.
"The heart wants what the heart wants" is a cheap excuse to claim you love,— when it is the very pain you feel after it's gone that proves to yourself you ever did.
