Looking to buy a new record player... options + advice

Back to Help & Advice

I recently realized that the audio quality on my record player is absolute shiiite; it's a suitcase record player i bought off amazon or something for like 200-700 riyals back when i was 15. it has a built-in speaker and a bluetooth option, and was within my budget, hence why i bought it, but now i'm looking to upgrade.

i've had my eye on the McIntosh MTI100 Integrated turntable cause i really like the way it looks, but i'd have to buy speakers in order to actually use it. which isn't really within my budget, and i'd have to find the space for it, which i don't really have right now. I could hypothetically mount them onto shelves, but honestly it's a lot to think about and i already have a few projects on my hands that require my attention. anyway, point is: i like the look, but there are a lot of complications that follow, and i'd like people's advice and experience with the MTI100.

i don't use my records that much--largely because of the hassle and anxiety that comes with handling the records--but i've started building my collection and want to get a turntable with better audio quality that won't cause irreversible damage to my records. if you guys have any better recommendations please let me know, preferably something under the vintage, gothic, victorian style or something super techy; i'm a pretty big STEM guy so i'd like that :)
