I used to have rly bad social anxiety and I used to shake every time I would have a conversation with someone new. I would shake EXTREMELY bad during presentations (I still do sometimes). I’ve worked on my anxiety over time. I joined clubs, I volunteered for school events (such as gingerbread making contest), and the small things such as complimenting someone. I understand a lot of people aren’t as fortunate as me, but I’d like to help if I can. If you have trouble with finding things to converse about, I can help bring ideas to keep the conversation going.
Ex. You walk into a store or restaurant, your server/ the cashier has dyed hair. Maybe it’s a color you rly admire and would like to do someday. Maybe you are curious about how well the dye stays in. HERES WHAT YOU CAN DO!!
“I love your hair!! What brand did you use for the color?”
Worker: “oh this is purple from iroiro!”
“I’ve never tried iroiro, would you recommend it?”
(Or)
“I love iroiro, I’ve tried their neon green but I have tried their purple, is it long lasting?/ would you recommend it?”
“Yes, I love their purple, so for it’s been _ weeks and it still doesn’t budge.”
Depending on the situation you may have to cut the conversation short.
But yea that’s pretty much a summary of like what I could provide to help someone out. Also just remember that no one is going to remember having a small conversation with a stranger so don’t worry. They MIGHT remember a compliment. I still remember in middle school when someone I barely knew said they liked my makeup, and I didn’t have any makeup on. I’m now 19 in college. Some things can make a positive difference in someone’s life so don’t waste the opportunity to make it happen :)
