im getting my haircut in like 3 weeks or smth and i really wanna get like an "emo" cut, but idk what to ask for...for context i have curly hair, and i dont want my hair to look like shit when i don't straighten it..heres some inspo pics i have..i also have a blog post about it..
so what do i ask for???? how do i go about it???? any help would be appreciated..
DO NOOOTTT GOO TO A HAIR STYLIST THEYRE GONNA FUCK YOU UP unless they EXPLICITY STATE that they do alternative hair .. do your own hair.. trust me even if you mess it up itll look 1000xx better than what a professional hair stylist will do.

@savvluvsllamas__ the problem is that what they tend to do is want to make their hair look professional, and obviously emo hair is messy slanted and unprofessional. emo hair is SUPER easy to cut its just that it wouldnt be a good look on them .. a lot of the times they also just dont know because its not taught in cosmetology school ☹

i just dont think theres any alternative specalizing salons near me 😭😭😭 i really dont want to cut my own hair because if it start to look wonky im gonna end up crying on my bathroom floor..im really not a trust the process person which is why i dont cut my own hair 😭

i mean i live near a big city? i'd be willing to go into the city to get my hair cut..if theres any alternative ones in the city
@savvluvsllamas__ its ridiculously easy to find them in your area if you search on instagram!!!! ESPC if you live in a big city theres no way you wont find one a couple minutes away!

Yeah, i second what the other person said. If you just go to a standard salon that doesn’t specialize in alternative haircuts (or probably have much experience with properly cutting curly hair) it might not end well
@savvluvsllamas__ OH YEAH you’re probably going to want to request a razor cut. And for laying maybe requesting something like a shag/wolfcut style would probably give them a better idea. At least from my experience lol

It grows out of your head for free, just do your own haircut. Try to section it evenly &, for curly hair, first cut it dry/natural so you don't have issues with it shrinking when the curls are out, THEN straighten or wet it & even out the ends. That way it looks good regardless of how much styling effort you put into it. Don't worry, if you mess it up it'll grow back.
Try to find a hair dresser that specializes or at least has experience with alternative hair also make sure to look at review pictures and their social media pages if they have any just to make sure they know their stuff (doing it at home is an option too if you can't find any)

Don't go to a regular stylist, THEY'LL RUIN YOUR HAIR
Well i think you should look at how the hair works first, so you can be sure how theyre supposed to cut it. Also look at some curly hair versions to make sure you like the result it will come out. If you go to a regular hairdresser you should explain it to them because this kind if haircut is not what everyday ppl ask for. If they go like WELL LETS SEE WHAT I CAN DO then maybe its not the best choice to cut your hair there. I just dont think youll be able to cut it by your own for the first time. My experience was like i went to my local hairdresser who was a scenekid in the 2000s (and i didnt know that) so the cut went rlly well. After a few times i realised what suits me more and i made some changes to make it look good but i was lucky i found a good hairdresser. So yeah its not a tragedy if it comes out weird for the first time, you can fix it either by your own of when you go again
