i just got my new computer, but i was kinda forced to install windows 11. i installed 2 hard drives i had for a long time (the computer only seems to be detecting one of them though). on the one that was working i installed linux mint, but the problem is that with everything web related, it was horrifically slow, i'm talking about steam, youtube, everything.
and windows 11 isn't without it's problems either, because i keep trying to play tf2, but it lags and randomly freezes and it makes it unplayable. i made a separate partition on the same drive for my steam games but windows keeps trying to claim it's corrupt.
also, i just don't want to use windows 11. it seems kinda invasive at times, there's a lot of design choices i don't like, and while it's generally fast, some stuff like the search menu takes an extremely long amount of time. i'm willing to learn linux if i can get the kinks worked out with mint, but i was considering getting rid of windows 11 and just having 10 instead. hell, i was even thinking about 7. i know it's really outdated now, but i can probably find workarounds to things being out of support and the other various issues.
one more thing: my previous computer was built in 2011, and i still have data on there i want to transfer onto my new computer. problem is the case is so bulky and impractical that i have yet to take out the hard drive from there.
so, i guess the point of this is, what do you guys think i should do? did i screw up on the hard drives somehow? is there something i forgot to install for linux mint? should i continue with windows? let me know...
