I don't know if van gogh is a good starter brand on watercolor paint

Ima be real the generic Crayola water colors I used in elementary i still use them today and they work well I do recommend 

Usually you can never go wrong with watercolour

You need a fine brush

Paper needs to be thick, it's callee aqua paper or watercolour paper

Honestly you just need to get a cheapish set of watercolours and they'll do you for ages! If you look up watercolour paper you'll get better quality stuff, which can cost a bunch of money but it's worth it. Watercolour on printer paper is probably one of the most sad experiences you could have as an artist 😭
