Why do older people struggle to see the issue with AI art

It’s usually old people who use sloppy AI art with zero shame, some of them even support AI art more than human art, mocking artists who are against it, why?

i think it's the same reason why some of them avoid: going to doctors when beginning to show symptoms of illness; prefer to (badly) fix stuff themselves instead of hiring professionals; eccecc... because they're ignorant and stubborn. 

hell, they would hate on sunshine if they knew they were born on a cloudy day, it makes no sense because there's no sense to be made out of their actions 

People get stubborn more as they get older, Like what 606 said above. Also, for people who do not have any "skills" the idea to them that they can generate a really detailed """""""artwork"""""""" in seconds sound like a cheat code to them. A lot of these old people,  are not even aware that the damage AI does to the environment, or data centers in neigborhoods, because they are on a conpletley different side of the internet filled and promoting AI non stop. To try and get them to stop using AI you have to reach them direactly and have a conversation with them, but again old people are stubborn. I have tried explaining ai damage to my parents, and it is like they don't hear at all. They just cannot seem to imagine it. 

probably because of stupidity like, my dad was using AI alot on the images of me and my brother and I kept telling him to stop but he's like "quit being sensitive" like hell no I'm outta here

I also dont get it cuz in my head since they were born even before the internet era they should hate it more than anyone.. but THEY DONT😭

I don't think that older people actually know how harmful AI is. Like, I don't think they have received info about AI harming the environment. Or, maybe they're just stubborn. Older people grew up in the 90's ish, and that was a pretty stubborn era but honestly other than that I don't know.

Maybe they have no feelings for art

Besides a lot of them have no self awareness ( not all of them) , and they don't give a shit, art is existed in every time , they know how much art is important  , but they just ignore 

a lot of pro-AI older people I've met feel like they stake a lot of ego in what they believe in, and acknowledging the problems with GenAI art and GenAI in general would effect their ego in a sense that they have to admit they were wrong, a lot of them are too insecure to do that so they just double or triple down

i think it's for the same reason old people are generally worse with technology than younger people; they're not accustomed to it. they can't tell what's ai from what's real because for most of their life there was no ai "art".

for some of them they think other issues take priority over picture generation so they don't get the panic. they're kind of right sometimes. like i don't like the current state of ai but i also don't see any people who are screaming about ai water use/environmental damage also boycotting oreos/chips ahoy/etc. despite processed chocolate cookies being a massive detriment to the environment.

from what i've seen it's becuase it shows them whatever they want to see, they're stubborn as fuck as most people here already said and if they're already hooked to short form media, it scratches the itch in their head for something short and very stimulating. 

both my parents like ai to some extent. my mom literally gives "classes" on it and my dad is "indifferent" to it but likes, and i mean really likes watching ai documentaries and bullshit like that. for my mom it's just becuase i know she doesn't care that much about the enviornment and thinks she can get things done better, more easily and faster. as for my dad he's just kind of.. braindead atp. he likes the rush those videos give him and no matter how much you try and talk him out of it he'll take it as a joke because he doesn't like being told that something he likes is bad. i feel like that's what's going on with most older people too, although i hope none are as bad as what my father is doing.

I honestly don't know either but I do have few reasons I think they like it 1 because they are LAZY!! 2 because they dont want to hire someone or learn how to draw themselves 3. They think ever new invention is a good one even if it does more damage then good. 

Those are just theories though im not to sure why they are so pro ai. I also think the might be ignorant because even if you explain why ai is bad they still will use it after given explanation why ppl don't like it

Older generations tend to take everything at face value (at least in my opinion...) which probably means they do it because they don't see the demerits to using artificial intelligence 

They see a "polished" end result and probably don't think about where exactly the steps to make that end result originate from or where they're sourced 

I doubt most of them would continue regular usage if they realized the full damage of the technology used on such a pointless scale... and I feel like there's also an issue with people scalding rather than educating
