No Dario Argento i already know him, but seriously even a short

anything is fine

I know some Italian ones; you may already know them, as a lot of them are really popular, but still. I have not watched all of these, as some of them are still on my to-watch list. Not sure what kinda movies you are into, but here are my recommendations:

• Federico Fellini, films directed: "La Dolce Vita", "8½", "Intervista", "Nights of Cabiria", "La Strada"

• Bernardo Bertolucci, films directed: "The Conformist", "The Last Emperor", "The Dreamer", "1900"

• Pier Paolo Pasolini, films directed: "Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom", "Theorem", "The Gospel According to St. Matthew", "Mamma Roma"

• Lina Wertmüller, films directed: "Seven Beauties ", " Love and Anarchy", "The Seduction of Mimi",  "The Basilisk"
