what's a style you like? are there mixed styles that also piqued your interest?
could be fashion, music, art, etc.
(this isn't for me btw, this is just for those who want help discovering mixed styles)
i really love y2k cyber aesthetics, leaning into internet culture and maximalism design, mostly from the late 90s and early-mid 2000s. frutiger aero has grown to not really be my thing, though i do like translucent tech and have a partially translucent aqua monitor. unlike the specific audience of "laincore" (i use Lain frequently as a stand-in and love the series she's from dearly) however i feel like i'm more of an optimist rather than wanting to rot in my room and do nothing all day.
for me though, the open internet (made up of sites like this) is less of a superficial aesthetic element and more of a counterculture concept to me. i really love the philosophy the indie web has of reclaiming your own autonomy in using tech; the internet never had to be a detriment to our safety and sanity, after all! we should get to dictate how we let it affect us, just like with everything else! it motivates me to pursue self-improvements in other spaces as well.
