Depends entirely on the figure at the centre of it, but speaking generally, I think all that tribute stuff is a load of rubbish. I've watched series based on true crime, and they all glamorise the so-called criminals rather than setting aside at least a few scenes to honour the victims (or show what their lives were like before the whole thing went down). I'm not really a fan of the genre and I haven't seen the titles you mentioned, so I won't comment on those
oh, and I also think it's a pretty naff way to make (or launder) money, depending on the final product. Sometimes a documentary might land better, but going for a full cinematic piece hits differently, so whatever, c'est la vie
maybe if its loosely based on true crime, but if its retelling the actual events in detail it just feels super weird. it would take me out of it, knowing that im watching caricatures of real people, and knowing how their story is gonna end

i personally like them but i don't like that monster series of show on netflix, the guy who makes them adds a load of untrue slop and crap onto them and doesn't say its exaggerated. lots of people get their info from shows like these and half of it is false.
Heavely depends on wich bc a lot of them are just bs
Nitram, Polytechnique and 22 July are peak every other tcc movie is ass
