tips for learning japanese

i've been learning for about a year. i know both katakana and hiragana pretty well, and i can read some kanji without furigana (but not most) and i hardly understand what i read. i read books, play games, study grammar using a book, do anki (not as much as i should, but i'm getting better about that), read graded readers, and some other miscellaneous things, (watching videos occasionally, listening to podcasts, watching anime, etc.) does anyone have any tips? just repetition? more study time? because i definitely don't study more than like... an hour every day (if i do study.) any help is appreciated!

maybe finding other users that are learning and talking with them to get more used to using it? i've tried that method w other languages b4

Using the guided readers and other more digestible forms of information were the things that did wonders for me, being able to digest the information as it comes out of someone's mouth was the most difficult thing about starting out

there are also resources you can find online that dub or sub over television (both western and asian) that use simple japanese to make it easier to understand and process. also I would recommend talking to people who are also learning, though I think someone already said that. just get your brain thinking more about using the language as a language and not as a different way to speak english
