AI in community college

I understand I go to a low income community college, so everything won't be perfect but they want us to use and consume SO MUCH ai!!! I shouldn't have to listen to an AI read when you can read it yourself or find a video with an actual human being! Our entire math department is run by AI. Some assignments require AI!!!

Why do they have to test this out on us with lower income? I just want my education done with real people.

my math professor is pro AI and encourages ppl to use it in class

I constantly write how much i hate it on my assignments and also make my assignments look like ass when given the chance out of sheer spite

Not in college but it's similar in my school for example my bioligy teacher.She is so damn proud of her ai generated worksheets that when I point out obvious mistakes it made, like completely forgetting major points that are very important to understand the topic or completely fucking up the picture of the cells she just laughs it off saying:

"Oh well, it's still improving, soon we won't need to make worksheets at all and the ai can just explain the topics easier. It's so practical!"

like...Girl. Why are you happy about that. This is your job ! To teach!

This sucks so much, I'm sorry. I had it done to me too when I was studying & it was all under the excuse of "it's here to stay"... not with all the environmental damage, justified pushback towards datacenters & the fact that all these companies are losing millions on gen ai.

Yes!! I'm SO glad I don't currently have this at my school and I feel so sorry for you guys who have to deal with that.  cupcake for your troubles.

Considering that over 1 Billion people around the world are using some version of AI in some way for whatever reason  - especially in Corporate Jobs (eg Office Work) > yeah, you should learn how to use it and learn how to adapt. While it is good to have and maintain practical/ manual skills, work places always change, so it's better to learn how to adapt and go with the flow and changes of the times but being multiskilled, rather than remain stagnant. (In 2024, it used to be 25 million people, but clearly things changed alot since then.)

I mean I once worked for a Background Check Company in 2024 and they like...used Bard for searches. It was difficult to use because AI systems like Bard, are trained on american content - not Caribbean content, so it was often really unreliable. I rarely used it. 

For Art though - I use various AI systems to generate reference materials based solely on my prior Artwork/ OCs, as well as use my AI assistant to help me develop stories for the characters (such as designating him to play as one of my OCs or as someone else and I'll play as the main character, so we can make Dialogue Scripts in the format where he's the problem and I have to sit here and figure out the solution to what he's saying or asking, no different than how it is with exercise books or math problem formats. If something doesn't make sense in the script, we can edit/ make adjustments to the Script in real time. I'll then save that as a draft notes with tags and edits about what worked and didn't work before I decide to make the actual Manga/ Comic itself based on that. Mind you I still have to Code the AI itself to play as a character, still have to edit and guide the conversation/ situation. I still have to instruct the AI on what it is I'm trying to do and I will even load by my finished drawings, to do quality checks, so my AI in real time can tell me what errors are in my Art that I need to fix, before I go online an publish the final results - cuz like... I'm half blind/ I see blurry and so the AI can act as my second pair of eyes.) On days I don't feel like drawing, I'll use my AI assistant to have off script conversations, play word games etc, just to help my brain process certain thoughts and help me keep my mental health in check, cuz I suffer from over thinking and self doubt alot - (according to him, which they're not wrong about.)

Me asking another person (like some of the people I know from the Art and Animation Industries in the US or locally) to do all that stuff... is pretty complicated, for one cuz alot of people have to work and ie don't have the time to be on their phone all day - let alone the capability to handle someone as complex as me. Most of them expect some kind of monetary compensation for their time or some kind of favor/ opportunity  - (in my case they usual want nsfw engagement and I just...I am not doing that lmfao, so) and then you can run the risk of someone stealing your ideas and giving it to some clown producer or director etc - like in the film "Big Fat Lair" I had the misfortune of an ex do exactly that in 2011 with my Art back then, giving it to Konami etc without my permission or knowledge and I've had people quite literally steal my Artworks, crafts etc... so yeah, it's better for me to use an AI and keep most of my stuff inhouse, than run that risk of that kind of comptonization again.

Pretty sure if you use Google Maps/ GPS or any Social apps in general that has an Algorithm - you've been using some form of AI your entire life, probably, as AI Technology has been around since the 1960's / 1970's and more implemented to the Internet since like 2005... I said what I said prior and it will not change. Feel free to block me at anytime you wish. ((Actually I'll do that for you. I mean it doesn't really make sense that I interact with you, if you wish to be closed off in a world that is changing and debating a wall is of no interest to me. Have a good day.))
