Like the title says i wanna know the persona fans predictions, thoughts, ideas and more about both p6 and p4R!
Personally im hoping (predicting?) p6 will lean into a psychological murder mystery cultish type of story, sort of like danganronpa in a way
P4R is eh, the news from the game is constantly 1 step forward and 2 steps backward, especially with how they're changing Yosuke(reducing him into a generic guy best friend by removing his flaws that he works out as the story progresses) it's hard to feel excited for it.
P6 is exciting though, haven't looked at the achievement leak and not planning on looking at it but just from the vibes alone so far I'm digging it. Also really like the protagonist design
To directly quote the developers.
“He’s a little bit insensitive in terms of how he treats outsiders sometimes. So we wanted to lighten that up and make it a little bit more fitting for the world we live in now.”
But like... that was his character arc???? He's rude or mocking to others but then learns to not be a dick and a good friend??? They just completely took away the plot of his social link and character arc.
And also they said they will not add Yosuke romance by saying
"We were thinking if we did Yosuke, we kinda have to add all the other male characters as well. And if we did that, like that's a lot of work. I don't know if we could handle"
Which is a bullshit excuse because no one is asking for the other male characters' romance??? Yosuke romance has been in the works and been somethings thats edged for over a decade. So they took away his main interesting character plot and just shut down the other possible thing to create and hype around Yosuke.
also the fact they mentioned adachi as one of the male romances... nobody asked for that hello

I'm definitely missing out on really good game, but I'm not playing persona unless they have a female mc, thinking of playing p3 portable sometime tho..
if persona 6 has an optional female protag I'll be interested

also a femc for persona 6 is unlikely.. pretty sure leaks said the supposed p6 femc wasnt actually gonna be a protagonist
P4R just feels so unnecessary, like I get the idea is to do a similar modernization the same way they did 3 but I think 4 is in much different situation. 3 was their first go at this kinda formula for persona so there was definitely a few snags in the gameplay that could definitely use some tweaking. Along with that 3 had 3 versions all with different bells and whistles that none of the other versions have so it makes sense to modernize and bring all that stuff together(although I think it failed at that). But P4 golden pretty much had everything regular 4 did minus some graphical hiccups. Along with that its gameplay was pretty damn good fixing a lot of issues people had with 3. At most the only “problem” with 4 is that it looked like a ps2 game which to me isn’t enough justification to remake a game. Plus I don’t if its me getting old and bitter but the graphics and music just ain’t hitting right, even compared to 3R. As for P6 I am excited, i hope they go in a darker direction as implied with the teaser(tbf p5 teaser was kinda dark so who knows).
yeah even though im excited for p4r i absolutely think they couldve just settled with golden cause other than the graphics and peoples own personal opinions its a good game with no real big downside
im just kinda more excited to see the game in more hd graphics though the price is defff not that worth it
I'm super excited for P6,
P4 remake much less so... P4G is great on its own and doesn't need a remake. They're not even restoring well requested content like the Yosuke romance either. I was excited for the P3 remake because I assumed that they'd be bringing the content of the P3FES and P3Portable together to make the definitive version of the game but eh well they didn't do that.
I wish they'd do remakes of old games that don't hold up instead. Persona 2's gameplay was terrible and boring but the story was amazing. They've given hints that they might be remaking it as well so I'm pretty happy over that, I just hope that they don't mess it up.
My biggest remake wish from Atlus is SMTI and SMTII, but they weren't even options on the last survey :(
p1 & p2 really deserves remakes!! i'd love to play both but considering the trouble and how doodoo the gameplay is its just a hassle

Honestly P4 didn’t really needed a remake because Golden exists but yeah, im still gonna play if I can get it for free... I’m happy they seem to have included Marie more into the story (like in the anime), much less the stupid reason they brought up to not have a yosuke romance (that stuff was in the game files since 2008 it’s ridiculous how they just try to forget it... Atlus lost their balls in 2001 ig)
But I’m very exited for Persona 6! I hope it will have completly new ideas and separates itself from the vibes and story cliches Persona 5 (and the 'modern trilogy' in general) has. Kind of like a reboot of some sort, I want something completly fresh and new ^^ also more dark ans psychological but that’s the edgy teen in me that talks here
(I just want them to not fuck up the character arcs this time, especially for the women... cuz my opinion of hashino and his writting team is heh... complicated to say the least...)(also if there’s no FEMC this time I’m gonna start a riot fr it’s not like P3P... they don’t have excuses...)
honestly so real about the womens character arcs. they fucked up ann's character SO horribly.
there better be a femc, even if we wouldnt get to play as her, i need a female character who we get to see the stories perspective from!!
also im hoping so hard for new character tropes im sick of the perverted best friend trope even if they have more characterisation (ryuji, yosuke, junpei)
@Keithinnie Yeaaah for real I hate how they handled Ann bruh, but apparently Atlus hates women now so i won’t hope too much about a femc or better representation, so I won’t be too dissapointed in P6 lol (A shame when u know the first games and p3p were know for being THE rpg with the most female audience... )
And fr the recurring tropes are sooooo annoying too. Not only for the characters but also the beach and hot spring scenes like wtf...
I'm excited for persona 6 as someone who's new to the persona franchise (I've only played p4g so far 😭) and I hope there's an option for a femc and romance routes of BOTH genders. But for p4revival idkk how I feel on it lwky. Graphics look great but besides that it kinda just feels the same to me
