I like Kane Parsons backrooms series and the oldest view on YouTube and I want to find a book or more with that kind of vibe, I love reading but like it's hard to actually find something that I'm looking for without a name or whatever.
if you liked the backrooms movie you will LOVE House of Leaves. Its a highly experimental horror novel about a family that moves into a new house, and after discovering that the house is a few inches larger on the inside than it is on the outside it slowly begins to twist, and contort into an impossible structure.
The story constantly shifts through 3 different perspectives: The perspective of the family, the perspective of an old blind scholar who spends his time studying the house, and an unstable washed up drug addict who finds the old mans writings on the house after he dies. the back of the book also features poems written by the old man, and letters sent from the drug addicts mother to him when he was a child. the words in the book themselves start top shift and change as the house becomes even more contorted, and ive included a picture of one of the pages below as an example. It is a really cool book BUT it is features a lot of really heavy themes, so you might wanna look into some trigger warnings before reading it. It is also very long, I think its around 700 pages.
This book is also not the only piece of media related to the story. There is also an album written by the authors sister POE called haunted, a doom mod called MyHouse.wad, and a bbc radio play.
