how important are spoiler warnings to you?

maybe its just me, but i feel like it can be really hard to avoid spoilers (especially for new shows/movies) online nowadays, partly because people don't always bother with spoiler warnings

maybe discussing every major spoiler should come with a warning just for courtesy, after all i havent seen every film ever just yet, even some of the all time most popular ones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

how old do you guys think a piece of media should be to not need spoiler warnings anymore? or how popular? let me know what u think kthxbai :)

hmmmm interesting question !! i really think it depends on the kind of spoiler and the age of whatever movie or series you’re talking about !! spoilers that are generally known ( like darth vaders identity or similar stuff ) don’t really need a spoiler warning i thinkkkkkk BUT if the spoiler reveals the entire plot or any major character deaths they SHOULD have a warning. anything that majorly impacts the enjoyment or surprise of the material should be tagged !! especially for still running shows :D 

but you are SO right, avoiding spoilers in this day and age seems basically impossible, i have been spoiled so many things i would’ve wanted to find out on my own terms but oh well,,, ://

While I'm frustrated with people giving no spoiler warnings, what I'm also frustrated by is when videos about certain TV Shows or Films don't talk about the movie just because they might spoil it. Just put a spoiler warning!! I remember trying to get into Twin Peaks and being unable to find a single video talking about Twin Peaks normally without expanding it into this massive overarching philosophical debate.

I think 70s is probably the right time for it. Movies like Dog Day Afternoon can be completely ruined when spoilers are told. Movies like Wizard of Oz aren't because they're almost 100 years old and are told in the typical story structure.

Meh, it happens. I know how Fight Club ends though I've never seen it, and that might cheapen the experience for me if I ever do decide to watch it. But what can you do, it's one of those most famous movies ever and the twist is near its most iconic part; people are gonna talk about it. It's cool when people do put a warning but I'm not bothered unless it's a recent release. Besides, sometimes you can know how a story ends and still enjoy what it takes to get there.

i understand if its a movie that has been out for a while unless its not major spoilers but its particularly annoying when its something that literally just released. like i see so much of those movie/tv reviewers post content with literally little to no spoiler warning, maybe its just the type of creators i see but there has been a number of times where ive been spoiled for a show/movie that just released thinking it was a spoiler free review, but i think thats just me issue for not scrolling past it i guess.
