OKay so I'm in college and, like the title says, I have two rlly big research papers (20 pages each) due at the end of the semester, and they have to have a ton of sources, both primary and secondary
The two overall class topics (the general topics I have to find a more niche topic under) are medieval medicine in early modern Europe and Victorians in Nature
I kinda wanted to do a comparison piece between Trepanation in the 1500s and Trepanation in the 1900s but my professor shot it down ;-; and there aren't enough primary sources to do one on the medieval period alone, hence the attempt at comparison. I'm sorta at a loss, so I'd love if any of y'all have some ideas I could look into cuz I'm stumped...
With Victorians in nature (basically the naturalist era from Alexander von Humboldt until the end of the Victorian era) its a problem of too many topics, and they've been covered to death, like fashion history in relation to how Victorians saw nature, so I'd love some more niche ideas within that realm. I considered doing a paper on manifest destiny and westward expansion in art but I dunno if that would be (a) interesting and (b) plausible for a 20 age paper, whether it would go over or under that page count.
Any help is greatly appreciated :D
