Out of all the game series you have played which would you consider to have the most amazing must play games in them. It doesn’t have to be consistent quality, but it should have at least like 2-3 games in it you’re factoring in. For me its gotta be the metal gear solid series. 1 is blast and a really gripping story with great vocal performances along with gameplay being pretty fun overall. 2 is a masterpiece in my eyes, from its story, its deeper themes and even the atmosphere, everything just works so well together(play this game). 3 has a fantastic story as well, not as complicated as 2’s but the simplicity lets the characters really shine, everyone in this game is entertaining in some way. Along with that it probably has the best gameplay in the series with all the additions 2 had plus cqc, camo, and the injury system. Plus the jungle setting is just so distinct and really sells the idea of you being alone on a sneaking mission, probably better than any of the other games. You also get such a great blend of locals, from the swamps, to the mountains, to elaborate military fortresses, the game is always shaking things up. 4 is definitely not as great as the previous games but still fantastic. It has amazing visuals especially for the year it released, along with that there is so much small random bullshit in this game that im always finding new stuff whenever I go back to it. The story is a clusterfuck though and I don’t love some of the decisions made with some characters, but if you love the series it is a fantastic send off that even with its problems im sure you can enjoy it. Finally 5 which like 4 has problems that keep it from being an absolute masterpiece, but its still a fantastic game. The gameplay in terms of options is second to none, every situation can be approached in hundreds of ways, each of them being fun in their own way. The story is definitely a bit weak, especially compared to the others games, but some of the twists are so nuts I gotta give credit where its due. Along with that the open world aspect is kinda superfluous and takes away from having more memorable locations and events. Still this game is absolute masterpiece of gameplay and feel and deserves to be played on that merit alone. As a bonus im also gonna include metal gear rising revengence. For me this game is special, the gameplay is nothing like the others games as its a hack and slash where you can cut almost everything into little tiny pieces. Still to this day almost no game has replicated this and it pisses me off because its so fucking cool. Outside of that however you also have an incredibly satisfying gameplay loop and some of the best boss fights you might ever play. Plus the story, while memed to death, is pretty damn entertaining on its own. There’s a reason why the one thing people know about this game is senator Armstrong, genuinely amazing character and steals the show in the last 40 minutes. But the rest of the game is full of funny bits or awesome moments that just fuel the inner edge lord 14 inside. Also, absolutely killer soundtrack.
