I saw the new Resident Evil movie in IMAX last night and I gotta say, it really lived up to my expectations. It looked terrifying based on the trailer (it was) and based on what my brother said, it was fairly loyal to the games. I wanna know if anyone else has seen it or any opinions people have, positive or negative. No spoilers for the sake of people who haven't seen it yet!

I posted a blog review (with spoilers) but overall I'd say it's a good scary movie with a weaker plot

Imo, I loved it!! Missed a few minutes of the start cause we were at another theater watching marvel encore but Im glad that we saved "the best for last" that day. I have to say that I have a love and hate relationship with the ending. Obviously (Like everyone else) I expected bryan to live cause of the "main character armor", but I also love that he didn't, makes the situtation more realistic that a random guy, like bryan, def wouldn't survive that kind of apocalypse or outbreak(?) Though it really irritated me when that last scientist(and the others) didn't stab him with the cure, but I can't fully blame em cause a lot of people would've hesitated aswell, fearing they'd get hurt or bitten :p (Yap)

@Helierloukatis I also thought that the scientists were a bit off, they seemed more of a butt of a joke then actually important characters. The main guy is awkward and doesn't know how to deal with the chaos, which is understandable and makes him relatable, but they were the guys able to develop a cure for a ZOMBIE APOPCOLYPSE, so you would think they knew how to work underpressure (thats before bryan mutates).
Also correct me if im wrong did they work for the hospital or for Umbrella, cuz when i watched i thought the were supposed to be used to that since they work for big bad company, but maybe i mixed that up.
I absolutely loved it... of course me being picky I'd change some smaller stuff but I really had fun and had a few good jumps too!

i dont know anything about the resident evil series but i found the movie pretty funny and interesting ! i really liked it and would watch it again, the only problem i have with it is the acting of the scientists and the little girl which i really didnt like and the 3D effects (mostly the mutations) idk if it was from the video i was watching or just me but i found that they didn't blend all that well with the decor

I think its a pretty solid film however the ending (im guessing 3D) cracked me up and honestly i was aware it would be different from the games it still turned out pretty good and i enjoyed the things they added (the mutation was new i don’t remember them being able to do that in the games ,, that would be horrifying) and im pretty sure they’ll be making a second based off the ending of the first i cant wait

It was amazing!!!! I'm seeing it for a second time tomorrow (technically today) and I can't wait! The movie is what playing the games feels like, which is cool as hell. I went home after seeing it for the first time and watched the old Markiplier playthrough of RE7 cuz the movie made me feel nostalgic xD it was a lot of fun, and I really liked the ending.

I accidentally double booked myself so I ended up watching it twice in three days. Truly, I was not at all mad about seeing it twice. It was really incredible.
