Do ya'll also have to feel a metaphysical connection to a character for them to be your fave?

I don't even know how to explain this but it's basically me watching a show, playing a game or something, spotting a character and just immediately feeling that connection. Feeling that urge to consume everything with their face on. Doesn't even have to be in a "He's just like me fr" kind of way, just feeling that connection that you can't explain.

To give an example, I feel that connection with Terezi Pyrobe from Homestuck

I feel that same connection with Jade from Homestuck, like she's literally me. Also I have the same feeling with Goldie from animal crossing and chiikawa, like, they're literally my whole personality

yes!!! me with the dude from my pfp who is the opposite of me and really annoying. this happens to me pretty often, +i'm aroace too, so there's only this aesthetic attraction involved
