should i confess to my doomed wuhluhwuh

Back to Help & Advice

she is the light of my life and i dunno how to function without her by my side anymore. we were best friends in 7th grade, and the crush only started in the middle of that friendship, though it wasn't severe. she left after 7th grade to move schools, her mom's choice, not hers, and is now at an all girls catholic charter. sometimes im scared she'll fall for one of the girls at her new school. its our freshman year in our seperate high schools now, and im stuck at the school she would've been at if she hadn't switched. most kids who were in our 7th grade know her. more specifically, they know she was mine. we were two peas in a pod, basically a married couple. we would get lesbian allegations when kids saw us holding hands. nowadays, people see me and think of me and her. kids ask me where she is, if she's okay, if we were dating and if we still talk. we do, but not like we used to. of course, we text often and with the same energy as the beginning of our bestfriendship, but its difficult because i can't hear her voice. we constantly joke about being married, though its never recieved with the paused, thoughtful tone i wish it was. i wish she genuinely stopped and thought for a second how it would be married to me. we're both girls, she's lesbian, im bisexual. should i confess?

If I were in your position, I would ask myself "what's the worst thing that could happen" and go from there. Are you afraid it will ruin your friendship? Do you think your feelings for her will "calm down" eventually? If you tell her and she feels the same, would a relationship work in the position you're in right now (her going to another school and, from what I understand, you not being able to see each other)? But also, if you don't talk to her about, you might never find out. Everything we do comes with a risk of gain and loss, and we will always have to weigh the pros and cons of it.

I wish you the best of luck!
