Got my dad's ipod classic and wanna know how to put music on it ^_^

I've already checked a few resources online, but I thought it might be good to ask here too !!

I don't have a mac, but I still want to download music with cover art onto this gifted ipod classic i got ^_^.. I can technically also probably use a mac at my school's library to help import music onto it...

I've never downloaded or bought music before though (except for some vinyls and such).. so I don't really know where to get music either ^_^;;
