Mine is ‘The Myth of Sisyphus’ by Albert Camus and my favourite manga series is Jojo’s bizarre adventure!

I'm so glad you mentioned 'If Cats Disappeared from the World' Because I've been meaning to read it for a long time now but always get distracted with other books!!
@bunnibun7 I am so happy someone knew which book I was talking about ☺ You need to give it a read or listen!! It honestly holds such a special place in my heart. ALBERT CAMUS!! Omg one of my favorite novels is by him — The Stranger!! Aside from that I’d say some of my favorites are American Psycho, A Clockwork Orange, and Lolita! I’ve been meaning to branch out of my comfort zone of classics but it seems so hard to find any unique novels about complex human behaviors or social commentaries @_@“ But keeping it real my absolute favorite book ever will forever remain The Little Prince!
@Gunslinger ooo! I've been trying to read a whole lot more classics too! If you need anymore recommendations, I really enjoyed 'Of Mice and Men' which I thought was a pretty interesting look in America during the Great Depression, as well as the lives of workers and the general attitudes in that time! I also really liked 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' which might be something you're interested in if you haven't already read it!

I'm glad someone likes Albert Camus!!! I have been trying to get caught up with 'The Stranger' but I have been busy with 1988-George Orwell.
I also didn't know that Clockwork orange had a book which is really interesting, I thought it was only a film!
@bunnibun7 The Strangers real good! It’s rlly short took me a little over an hour to read I finished it in one sitting. A Clockwork Orange is honestly better as a novel it has a very unique writing style since it’s meant to be a futuristic story it comes up with its own slang! I’m ngl I did find myself looking up the definitions of a lot of the slang since my version didn’t come w a glossary </3. The author actually greatly dislikes his film and Kubrick, the director, admittedly he hardly really knew what was going on in the novel = (
I wouldn't be surprised with how the author and director felt, I've heard a lot of people say that they didn't know where the film was heading!
i really liked 'don't look back' by scott frost! it was actually my first introduction to the series and is definitely not the first book. However, I found a strong appeal in the blurb and the story! It's a detective novel, so pretty much what you'd expect!
OOOOOoooo!!! I love detective novels/mystery novels and I think I would like it because I've read plenty of Nancy Drew books growing up :)
The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel (based on true events)
Breaking Night: A Memoir of Forgiveness, Survival, and My Journey from Homeless to Harvard by Liz Murray
Both of them made a movie. I recommend you to watch them. So good.
Lee's movie is the same title as his book. Liz's movie title is Homeless To Harvard.
I love books being made into films! I'll be adding them to both of my reading and watchlist!
A Discovery of Witches by: Deborah Harkness. Fantastic read if you love fantasy and historical fiction, since the author was an actual historian before becoming an author (and they actually did find a lost alchemical manuscript irl!).
Rain of Gold by: Victor Villaseñor. Another historical fiction book, centered on Mexican/Mexican American history. Just beautiful and heartrending.
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. Gothic horror. Loved the vibes.
The Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie. Magical realism. Gorgeous gorgeous writing. Some of those scenes are permanently imprinted in my brain.
And anything by Carl Hiaasen or Jenny Lawson (The Bloggess) when I need a dose of wit and dark humor.
