i heard about bloom into you being aromantic rep, and then i like actually looked into it a bit more, and the protagonist was demiromantic i believe.
i was a little disappointed, to be honest. i heard aromantic rep, and saw an anime. i was so over the moon. typically the rep i see (in regards to my inability to love) is seen in indie shows, which aesthetically don't tend to be my thing.
whilst demiromantic rep is still aromantic rep, don't get me wrong, i'm happy for those who do feel represented. what i'm upset about is that i felt it didn't represent me. i wish there was an anime where the protagonist really couldn't fall in love, no matter how hard she tried. i think it would really hit close to home. romance is so incredibly desirable, yet i'm incapable of returning any feelings.
do you guys have any animes that feature an aromantic protagonist (besides bloom into you, i think watching it would just make me feel sad)
