All these sites keep trying to push me to use their AI tools (and some of it I don't even think is genuine AI, it's just AI-washed).
I DO NOT WANT TO USE AI. BUG OFF. I had to go into Chrome's flags just to nuke it from my home page.
And then at work I was designing something for an event and someone turned around and used an AI image for it before I could finish my design. It was volunteer work so I don't have anything to really fight against it; all I can do is be annoyed by it.
And now my mom keeps "talking to Google," which is what prompted this vent. She keeps excitedly telling me about the nice things it's saying about her, how she's getting her horoscope readings from it, etc.
I can't get away from this. I was complaining to people at work and one of my managers (who openly uses AI a ton) said I'll come around to it eventually, because it'll be everywhere so I might as well get used to it.
The worst thing is I enjoy drawing (keyword is ENJOY), and someone in my department recently suggested that if I use AI to draw for me, it'll free up time for me to do other things.
I can't keep up with this mess.
