i'm really into that genre, i love the exploring aspect of it, it has a lot of dimensions if that makes sense.
my favs are hollow knight, silksong and blasphemous
I really like castlevania symphony of the night and super Metroid. Was so hooked on castlevania I think I finished it in a weekend lol. I started hollow night somewhat recently too but I took a break to play Mina the hollower!

That’s cool, I looked up that game and they must have a shovel knight dlc or something too, the shovel knight developers also made Mina the hollower!
@clouds yes!! the game is also full of references so it's fun to play when you know the other games

"Kotama and Academy Citadel" is a really good one! The battles rely heavily on counters and while it's not as long as Hollow Knight, it's still super fun!(I finished it in 25 hours)

Omg, I love Blasphemous!! Currently, I'm trying out Bloodstained due to their collab (plus I really love the music from that game!)
I do really need to play more metroidvanias. I've played Ender Lilies, which I found the music and story enjoyable but the gameplay is kind of iffy.
@cherubii lolll I'm playing that same one right now!! but yes hollow knight it's just so beautiful, the music, the art style, the challenges, the story and only 3 dudes did it
