Hi! My name is Joel Enrique and I am writing a dystopia novel inspired by 1940s Germany (if you know, you know) and the current political crisis of today; although I am still in the planning/researching stages, I figured I'd share the basic idea of what I am going for right now.
Note: it is meant to be read like you are reading one of those pet stories where one feral pet gets introduced to domestic life. Yk what I mean?
The novel takes place in the year 2140 and so much has changed; a Great Union has been resurrected from the corpse of democracy -- with the Savior taking the reigns and restoring the nation to its former greatness. No more separations, no more hatred, no more violence. The Savior and his Angels have cleaned the streets of crime, has merged the divide between red and blue and black and white, the filth of the past was meticulously cleansed and the pain we have gone through has been eradicated by the Savior's mighty hand! The Savior is so kind, in fact, that those who promote domestic terrorism and violent ideals are given a second chance in Correctional Facilities and brough back as the person they were always meant to be.
The Savior even hired Paulie Vanderbilt, an immigrant looking for work and the citizenship for his family. He's fed, his family lives in a good house, they're safe, he's putting food on the table, they're legal, their bills are paid entirely by the Savior. He's one of the good ones! Paulie is obedient and he follows all the rules -- exactly what a Purebred should be! Paulie was so good, he was even labled as the Savior's favorite.
Now, Elijah Ramirez? That one is a bit of a handful. He's feral. Grew up in the Wild and, recently, had to be admitted into the Correctional Facility after violent protest in the center square of the Capitol! Now, the files say that Elijah and Paulie were like brothers, born in the same neighborhood on the same day on the exact same time....maybe seeing Paulie's new life in Domestication could encourage our poor, feral boy to straighten up and accept the love he deserves. But, I will admit, getting these two to get along is difficult but who could blame Elijah? He doesnt recognize Paulie's scent anymore, the poor thing.
No matter, everything will turn out for the better in the end....right?
Let me know if you guys would be interested in reading it! Like I said if is in the research/outlining stage but I figured I'd get this out there now to get into the habit of posting about it cause I suck at that.
