the whole anti-"larpers and newgens" makes me so afraid to ask things in a fandom when im a new fan, i understand being upset abt thinking u found a fan of something but then discovering they are a poser, but i hate seeing people get insulted for asking "obvious questions" does anyone else feel like this? am i making sense?
The term "larp" has really lost all meaning atp. People realize that a poser is someone who pretends to know stuff right? It's not someone who WANTS to know!!!

bro the terms of larp and poser haunt me when i sleep. especially when im starting to listen to a new band i consult my friends they immediately tell me i am larping music. like how can i larp what i listen to, i really dont get it
@liztruthwonder same, i get so scared i have to lurk on REDDIT, honestly accusing someone of larping even though they do listen to the music is crazy! the "name 5 songs" people are annoying
@chesire bells oh dont even get me started on the "name 5 songs" i thought it was a legend until someone in my college seriously asked me to name 5 songs, wanted to cry.
the people who are the loudest about larper/posers usually lack their own personality and their life revolves around their fandom(s) anyways lol, i don’t take those people seriously.
i’ve had my fair share of experiences with posers but i usually just offer to teach them about the thing they’re larping (unless they’re like, weirdly hostile about it. like this one time i met a sonic larper irl during 2024; genuinely the most surreal shit i’ve ever experienced)
