There seems to be varying opinions online but I want to know people opinions on here! I love the dumb phone movement especially since a its encouraging more unique and colourful designs. dgmw there are problems with the movement.
But let me know ur guys thoughts :]
big fan of it, honestly the fact there are NEW flip phones being made because there is a flip phone demand is so cool to me! the barbie phone during the barbie movie craze?? amazing
the one I’m talking about is HMD (human moblie devices) they make regular touch screen phones AND flips and nokia-like bricks, not refurbished old tech but things compatible with the modern world (Type-C chargers etc), they also make safe phones for kids by using the idea that a kid SHOULDNT have full access to the internet like a regular modern phone allows.
although, it’s weird that the big tech giants decided to only implement the folding part and not the dumb part,, like yo, cool folding phone by my issue is the fact it is sucking out my soul xx. thank you for competing on who doesn’t have a crease but can we tackle the soul sucking part? thanks

I hate some aspects of modern tech, I think it's cool that some ppl can do that. Personally I feel like I rely on my smartphone features too much to use a flip phone, texting on those things is HARD. It would be nice to not have that constant distraction tho, and only have social media when I open my computer cuz I feel like it's way too easy to get hooked on some fuckin IG reels.
Also smartphones allow capitalism to infiltrate our lives so much more, even alone in our rooms we're constantly shown ads since a lot of social media now is full of advertising

I MISS MY FLIP PHONEEE. I HAD ONE JUNIOR YEAR AND I LOVED IT. Im deff downgrading when my iphone 12 mini stops working. Hell, I might just get the cheapest phone with text, call, and working maps. Maybe an iphone 6. Maps is the only reason I dont have a flip phone rn (yes, there are flip phones with maps, but they barely work and I get lost too often so its just not safe for me)
@sicvitahumana I get u frrrrr. I'm an aussie so there are a lot of really cute dump phones with maps that only the states have and I need maps in my life. (public transport my beloved). I really hope the gia phone that is in prototype atm releases an aus/asia version.
really really like it, i really want a flip phone bcuz im honestly tired of how distracting modern cell phones can be, they feel quite soulless and corrupted to me....but i do rely on it for navigation, i would be so so lost without it </3 although this is something i could definitely learn to adapt to (people did it all the time before the release of cell phones!) honestly my goal is to carry around a flip phone, a digicam, and an mp3 player, yes its a lot more stuff and more inconvenient than a modern phone buuuut again modern phones feel soulless to me so i would just feel better ^^, (and honestly i hate phone cameras with a passion, they are so ugly compared to my digicam photos, idc that they are supposed to be higher quality: YOURE UGLY.)
